November 30, 2021 – Trash or treasure? There’s a mystery afoot at Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing.
Someone left an old-fashioned tin recipe file on a table at the brewery over the balmy Thanksgiving weekend. It is crammed with hand-written heirloom family recipes. Remember back before computers, when recipes had to be copied by hand or clipped out of a newspaper or magazine?
Owner Emily Thomas—a talented cook herself—is searching for the person who left the cute recipe file. We can only speculate what they were doing at the brewery. Searching for grandma’s pumpkin pie recipe while enjoying a beer? Trying to decipher the turkey roasting instructions while waiting for the bird to cook? Or was it abandoned by uncaring relatives? We certainly hope the owner shows up to claim this treasure.

Thomas has posted the found recipe box to social media hoping she will be able to return it to family members, but so far no luck. Writing in the comments section on Instagram, some are urging her to start cooking some of the recipes herself and serve them at the brewery.
If you can help solve this mystery, please contact the brewery at 831.425.4900.
