Pebble Beach Food & Wine Announces 2024 Lineup

The last time PBFW was held was 2019.

December 5, 2023 – The Pebble Beach Food & Wine flashbacks strike like lightning, seemingly out of nowhere.

That foie gras soup. Zap

Those Opus One wines from four different decades. Zap

That zinger from Thomas Keller’s demo. Zap

That after-hours dance floor and adult grilled cheese. Zap.

For flocks of foodies, as the event went dark for several years, the fear was that those jolts would remain memories.

Then came word PBFW would return April 4-7, with owners Pebble Beach Company bringing in immersive experience pros a21 to run it, and some of the original team pitching in.

Now they’ve published the event lineup and ticket packages go on sale Tuesday, December 12.

Past tense is now flavor forward.

The four-day slate dips through dozens of events, featuring 150 wineries and 125 chefs, and is viewable in full or sorted by package and event type

Pro tip: Make sure to scroll right, as what appears to be four events on Friday is actually 14.

Highlights include an opening reception titled Coast to Coast with The James Beard Foundation, featuring JBF-recognized chefs; a strong sequence of wine tasting seminars featuring the likes of Castello di Ama and BOND; and various creatively themed engagements like Burgers, Bourbon and Bourdeaux Happy Hour and To the South, With Love: A Southern Jazz Brunch.

The chef lineup features familiar faces, area stars and name-check talent, Chris Cosentino, Charles Phan and Jeremiah Tower among them. Other culinary personalities include Mario Castrellón, Maneet Chauhan, Scott Conant, Graham Elliot, Elizabeth Falkner, Rogelio Garcia, Tim Hollingsworth, Antonia Lofaso, Cedric Vongerichten, Roy Yamaguchi, Geoffrey Zakarian, Andrew Zimmern, and more.

Meanwhile the grand tastings return with a new name, Tasting Pavilion, and familiar depth (100 wineries and chefs presiding for each).

A pair of closing programming notes: One, the menu of lunches, tastings, seminars and dinners is prodigious, on par with PBFW at its height, but—at the outset—a large proportion of them are restricted to package holders. Individual a la carte event tickets will be released in January.

The most exclusive Diamond package “the epitome of luxury” runs $10,000, with Platinum “a weekend of pure indulgence” at $6,500 and the Gold package “unlock a memorable weekend” running at $3,000.

Two, even though events just went live, at least one reader has already messaged EMB about the prices. For reference, a single Tasting Pavilion ticket runs $475, or $675 VIP.

The move for aspiring palates with humble budgets: volunteer. It’s a great way to meet people, enjoy the event from behind the curtain and earn access to other events.
