September 25, 2018 – A new burst of cocktail creativity is about to emerge on the Santa Cruz dining scene. The highly-anticipated Alderwood steakhouse and oyster bar has hired Miles Macquarrie to curate a cocktail program that complements the cusine of exec chef Jeffrey Wall.
Macquarrie is bar director and managing partner at Kimball House in Decatur, Georgia—a finalist or semi-finalist in the prestigious James Beard awards for best bar program in each of the past five years. He will be in Santa Cruz to set up Alderwood’s cocktail program ahead of the opening this fall. The barman makes his own house-made bitters and tinctures and loves to use seasonal produce in his cocktails.
