March 8, 2016 – The second restaurant for chef Geoffrey Hargrave and partner Quinn Cormier opens Wednesday in Capitola. Owners of the always bustling West End Tap are calling its new sibling East End Gastropub.
It will offer the same style of American comfort food, but Hargrave has used his creativity to come up with a completely different menu that takes things up a notch with entrées like honey-cured pork belly and handmade rye pappardelle. “I’m really proud of what’s happening here and the way things look,” says Hargrave.
Other items the chef is especially proud to serve include his house-cured beef belly pastrami and fresh buttermilk biscuits served with roasted Mary’s chicken.
A grass-fed burger and selection of pizzas round out the menu, which also includes some irresistible starters like oven baked olives with ricotta and red beet arancini.
East End Gastropub will serve a big selection of local craft beer and keg wines. It is located at 1501 41st Avenue, adjacent to the Capitola Cinelux theaters and will be open seven days a week from 11:30am to 10pm, starting at 5pm on Wednesday, March 9th. It will be closed for lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the first few weeks.
