Live Earth Farm is expecting the fundraiser for its Farm Discovery Program to be held at the farm on Saturday from 3pm to 6pm in Watsonville to sell out soon, so if you’d like to attend this 3rd annual event, be sure to buy your tickets fast!
Tickets for a barn dance with the Groove Grass band at 7pm, however, will be sold at the door.
Guests at the main fundraiser will be invited to amble among seven food stations set up around the farm, each featuring a local farmer, chef and winemaker.
A special children’s program for ages three and up will include farm activities and making adobe oven pizza.
A silent auction and the barn dance, to which the whole family is invited, will follow the afternoon of food and wine.
All proceeds from the benefit will go towards Live Earth’s Farm Discovery Program, a non-profit educational program that uses the farm as a classroom to teach about sustainable food systems and improve the health of children, the community and the environment.
The discovery program reaches out in particular to under-served schoolchildren, with the aim of connecting them with the earth and showing them the joy of fresh, organic foods.
Tickets for the fundraiser are $100 for adults, and $20 per family for children. Barn dance tickets are included in the price of the benefit tickets; guests who would only like to attend the barn dance will be charged just $10.
Live Earth will stop selling tickets for the main benefit when they sell out or by the end of business on Friday, Sept. 9.
The organic, seasonal cuisine will be prepared by Loren Ozaki, the Rib King; Karen Haralson and Rebecca Mastoris, Bauman College and Vibrant Foods Catering; Lisa Bautista, LEFDP Director and Professional Chef. Lightfoot Industries will be doing the serving.
The Wineries pouring will include: Alfaro Family Vineyards & Winery, Figge Cellars, Savannah Chanelle Vineyards, and Storrs Winery.
For those attending, the farm asks that guests use their Green Valley Entrance, 1275 Green Valley Rd, Watsonville 95076.
