Help our Eddy Award finalists win

eddy160_300May 31, 2016 – We’re honored (but not surprised) that three EMB stories have been nominated for Eddy Awards. That’s out of more than 600 submissions from 80 Edible magazines nationwide!

Our 2015 fall foraging issue is also a finalist in the category of BEST SPECIAL ISSUE. In that non-voting category we are competing with three other magazines, Edible New Orleans, Edible Indy and Edible Piedmont. You may recall we won the Best Special Issue category last year for our 2014 Water Issue.

You can help our talented writers and photographers win their categories by voting for the stories. The nominees are: for Best Story on the Environment and Sustainability Out to Sea: Tuna Diplomacy by Deborah Luhrman, photography Patrick Tregenza; for Best Recipe Feature-Regional Tradition Remembering Spaghetti Hill by John Cox; and for Best Recipe Feature-Seasonal Roadside Diaries: Acorns by Andrea Riordan, photography Kodiak Greenwood and Ken Payton.

A panel of 50+ esteemed judges selected the finalists. If every one of our newsletter readers votes, it will put us in the lead! And you can vote daily.

At Edible Monterey Bay, our mission is to celebrate the local food culture of Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey Counties, season by season. We believe in sustainability, and we believe everyone has a right to healthful, clean and affordable food. We think knowing where our food comes from is powerful, and we hope our magazine, website and newsletters inspire readers to get to know and support our local growers, fishers, chefs, vintners and food artisans.
