You’re invited: Food and Wine Benefit with Bluegrass

LliveEarth_farm_2012-254November 10, 2015 – Come join your friends at Edible Monterey Bay for a fantastic food and wine benefit with bluegrass music at Hidden Valley Music Seminars in Carmel Valley on Sunday from 2pm–4pm.

The 12 restaurants and food artisans participating in Community Flavor & Harmony are cooking up some exciting dishes, including a big paella from Mundaka proprietor Gabe Georis. Other dishes on the tentative menu include Tuna Tartar with Avocado and Yuzu Mousse, Jamaican Pulled Pork Sliders, Bordeaux-Braised Short Ribs with Spiced Cauliflower Cous Cous, Smoked Salmon, Braised Octopus with Borba Farm Romesco and Artisanal Pickles, just to name a few.

In addition to Mundaka, the 12 restaurants and food artisans that will be cooking for this event include Affina, La Balena, Cachagua General Store. Carmel Honey Co., Carmel Valley Ranch, Happy Girl, Jeffrey’s Lionfish, Lokal, The Cork & Plough and Wills Fargo.

Wineries will include Bernardus, Brand Family Wines, Caymus, Chock Rock, Cima Collina, Dawn’s Dream, Galante Vineyards, Holman, Joyce and Scheid.

Mad Otter Ale will be serving its craft brew and Bar Cart Cocktail Co. and the Quail and Olive will pour creative nonalcoholic cocktails.

Favorite of Alison Steel and Becky Hendricks

The lovely Alison Steele and Becky Hendricks of Sugar by the Pound and Santa Cruz Mountain String Trio will provide the bluegrass.

Items up for bid at the silent auction will include tickets to Pebble Beach Food & Wine 2016, dinner sails for the whole family on the Chardonnay II, designer clothing items, art, a dinner for 8 in Big Sur, gift certificates and many more.

11072893_10207534884200542_8522054726692479329_oThe event will benefit the construction of a world-class pipe organ at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, creating a new music venue for the whole community to enjoy. The organ being made is completely hand-crafted by the renowned company Dobson Pipe Organ Builders of Lake City, Iowa comprising over 1,000 pipes, designed specially for its space at St. Dustan’s.

The Carmel Bach Festival and Hidden Valley already planning to use it for concerts; what’s more, entirely new music series are being created just to take advantage of it.
