May 29, 2015 – Edible Monterey Bay is pleased to sponsor what is shaping up to be one of the most exciting farm-to-table events of the summer—Holman Ranch’s In Your Back Yard Grand Finale at its gorgeous vineyards in Carmel Valley.
At 6pm on Wednesday, July 15 Holman will open the gates to its historic Carmel Valley property—which was once a secluded getaway for movie stars like Charlie Chaplin and now is covered with picturesque olive orchards and vineyards—for a casual, picnic-style farm-to-table dinner featuring food from some of our region’s most creative chefs as well as Holman’s own award-winning wines and live music.
Sierra Mar/Post Ranch Inn’s John Cox, La Balena’s Brad Briske, Aubergine’s Ron Mendoza and Edgar’s Ken MacDonald, who have all been part of the sold-out In Your Back Yard series of events at Holman’s tasting room this spring, will all be cooking for the July 15 event.
Joining them in preparing the food for the farm-to-table benefit will be Will’s Fargo’s Jérôme Viel, Monterey Meringues’ Leigh Zimmerman and Domenick Allen, Porters in the Forest’s Johnny DeVivo and the Beach House’s Evan Lite.
Holman will pour an array of its delicious estate wines and purveyors will include Monterey Abalone Co. and Tassajara Natural Meats.
What’s more…guests will have a rare opportunity to see a portion of their ticket payment go to six different local food-related nonprofits: Ag Against Hunger, Everyone’s Harvest, the Food Bank for Monterey County, MEarth, Nancy’s Project and Seafood Watch.
And while guests are picnicking, they will be serenaded by the guitar and harp music of the Bolero Brothers.
Don’t miss out! Gather a group of friends and purchase your tickets ($95) online now at
HolmanRanchBenefitPicnic.eventbrite.com, or by calling 831.659.2640.
Then bring your picnic blankets and your appetite for a terrific evening and Holman will take care of the rest!
