Monterey’s popular Ad Astra bakery opened ths second outpost in June, selling its coveted sourdough loaves, along with coffee, tea, pastries and heartier breakfast and lunch items. The menu changes daily, but early offerings included Fra’ Mani Salame Rosa sandwich with sweet red peppers on the house sesame stirato, and a Danish breakfast sandwich on Ad Astra’s seeded sourdough bun with Comte cheese and Step Ladder Creamery cultured butter.
