
February 14, 2023 – With a past that includes cheffing at a series of top Monterey Bay restaurants and hosting his own TV show, Todd Fisher now runs The Meatery in Seaside and Bear + Flag Roadside in Carmel alongside his wife and grown children.
In addition he regularly imparts recipes, cooking wisdom and rants in his often hilarious newsletter. Since it’s Valentine’s Day, chef Todd has come up with a list of aphrodisiac properties of various foods from anise seeds to wasabi.
“It is of much debate as to the list of “Aphrodisiacs.” Nevertheless, I will share my list of “Magical Mojo Medicines” that are guaranteed to stir the desires of all who partake, with this list I also issue a warning, be careful, it is a power few understand,” he writes before sharing the list below.
Anise seed – Sucking on the seeds said to increase your desire…sex tobacco anyone?
Asparagus – Given it’s phallic shape…feed your lover a few steamed chilled spears.
Almonds – The aroma is said to induce passion in a female!
Artichokes – The sexy technique used to eat them will drive a man wild!
Arugula – It’s spice is said to stir the gods.
Avocado – “Ahuacuati” which translated from the Aztec means Testical Tree. No
wonder if they’re so damn expensive and delicate!
Bananas – Obviously phallic, more important the potassium and B vitamins.
Basil – Said to stimulate sex drive and boost fertility. I love the vibrant fragrance.
Chocolate – Duh!
Carrots – Believed to be a stimulant to the male! Carrot cake any one?
Coffee – A stimulant for sure and great when planning an “All Nighter.”
Coriander – In the book “Arabian Nights” this seed fertilizes a childless woman.
Dandelions – The pungent greens are said to add spice to your romantic moments.
Figs – Said to emulate the female sex organ…Yumm Yumm get ya some!
Garlic – Will definitely spice up your love life…as long as you both have it!
Ginger – Stimulates the circulatory system…good blood flow is a must!
Honey – Said to sweeten the moment and keep you together longer, wink, wink…
Mustard – Stimulates the sexual glands and increases desire!
Nutmeg – In quantity nutmeg can produce a hallucinogenic effect.
Oysters – Resembling the female genitalia, this fruit of the sea is provocative indeed. While others say the chemical make up of the oyster will give you longevity, one might not obtain otherwise.
Parsnips – Phallic, used by Middle Eastern royalty to aid in seduction.
Pine Nuts – Rich in zinc, a necessary mineral to maintain male potency.
Pineapple – Rich in vitamin C and used as a homeopathic treatment to impotency.
Rapini – Believed to increase virility and make a Man Love Longer.
Raspberries – A.K.A. Fruit Nipples…Perfect for hand feeding your lover, whipped cream anyone??
Shrimp- The soft pink, the firm texture, the explosion of flavor in your mouth, need I say more?
Strawberries – High in vitamin C and when cut in half, well you’ll see.
Truffles – The musky fungus, “Ooh SEXY” said to sensitize the skin to touch!
Vanilla – Scent and flavor are said to increase your lustful desires…Is anyone feeling naughty?
Wasabi Root – Said by the Japanese to spice up more than your sushi!
Wine – Wine relaxes and helps stimulate our senses. Drinking wine can be an erotic experience… Let your eyes feast on the color of the liquid, caress the glass, savor the taste on your lips… You got it?
**Keep in mind, too much wine and you’re not good for anything!
